I am a public health doctor, project manager and researcher. I have attained a Master of Science degree in Global Health at the University of Oxford, and Master of Science degree in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) (Edinburgh University).
I have 14 years work experience in East and West African regions as a public health doctor, senior project manager, researcher in key global health challenges: infectious diseases (specifically TB, HIV, malaria, pneumonia, pandemic diseases), antimicrobial resistance (AMR), neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), child health, and digital health. I have led and implemented impactful public health projects in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Malawi and Sierra Leone.
I have advanced language skills in English and Swahili. Intermediate skills in French, beginners level Arabic.

Dr. Lena’s professional journey spans sub-Saharan Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, South Sudan, and Sierra Leone), and has provided strategic leadership for impactful large-scale, global health projects in public health, non-communicable diseases, infectious and pandemic diseases, digital health, maternal and child health, health policy and has worked in complex environments including in emergency settings with government officials, Ministries of Health, NGOs, international agencies, academia/research and private partners, regulatory agencies, civil society, donors and communities.
